Fast Feeds, Smart Reads: The UX Playbook Behind InvesTime

Turning Information Overload into Investment Gold
Turning Information Overload into Investment Gold
Designing InvesTime was an opportunity to address a critical challenge: young professionals often struggle to keep up with time-sensitive financial news in a world where opportunities can appear and disappear in minutes. As the sole Product Designer, I took ownership of the project from concept to prototype, beginning with in-depth user interviews to understand behaviors, frustrations, and needs.
From there, I translated insights into wireframes and interactive prototypes in Figma, iterating based on usability feedback. My focus was on creating a clean, minimal design combined with customizable settings to deliver personalized and actionable investment news. By introducing intuitive navigation, a time-release newsfeed, and bookmarking features, I designed an experience that made consuming complex financial content simple, fast, and relevant.
The outcome was a solution that not only empowered users to make informed investment decisions but also demonstrated the impact of user-centered design in solving high-stakes, real-world problems.

Design Goal
Design Goal
How might I deliver a time-sensitive, personalized financial newsfeed that balances minimalist aesthetics with interactive features, enabling users to act quickly on opportunities while customizing notifications and content to their interests?

Made Time-Sensitive Financial News Accessible
Challenge: Young professionals like my persona, Theraune, struggled to find timely and consolidated financial news to act on investment opportunities.
Action: I conducted in-depth interviews and usability testing with my participant to understand pain points and expectations. Using this feedback, I designed wireframes and prototypes in Figma, prioritizing customization, streamlined navigation, and interactive features.
Impact: Users could now access curated, real-time financial content tailored to their interests—helping them act quickly and confidently on investment opportunities.

Navigated Complex Financial Media
Challenge: Users were overwhelmed by unclear icons, unlabeled media, and confusing navigation when engaging with news and multimedia.
Action: Through multiple feedback loops, I refined navigation, clarified labeling, and restructured flows to make the system intuitive. I also redesigned interactive elements like sliders and notifications for better customization.
Impact: This resulted in smoother user journeys where participants could easily scroll, configure settings, and consume media without confusion—saving valuable time.

Balanced Aesthetics and Functionality
Challenge: Financial apps often struggle to balance an engaging design with clarity and performance.
Action: I created a modular, minimalist design with interactive features such as horizontal scrolling, bookmarking, and personalized feeds. Accessibility was prioritized by planning for A11y standards like screen reader compatibility and keyboard navigation.
Impact: The app offered a polished and professional design without compromising performance, making it easy for users to stay informed without distraction or overload.
Ensured Iterative Growth and Adaptability
Challenge: The prototype needed to adapt to user needs while maintaining scalability.
Action: I worked closely with my participant in iterative cycles, gathering input, testing, and refining the prototype with each round.
Impact: The ongoing improvements created a design that truly reflected user needs, building trust and demonstrating the app’s potential for scalability.
